The promiscuous proliferation of tales concerning floating weapons has made them a part of everyday folklore. Usually at night (and, I conjecture, after an enthusiastic libation), Dancing Blades sightings often consist of odd reflections in the darkness. Closer inspection reveals weapons, suspended in the air without any visible support, perpetually in motion as if enchanted to dance.

Explanations range from demons to witchcraft, but most accepted is the notion that these are the weapons of those who have devoted their lives to the art of war, and as such, are unwilling to leave the tools of their craft behind in death.

I have not seen such things myself, but I have in my time encountered much stranger phenomena. It is hard to discount such findings.

After all, it is best not to underestimate anything with a sharpened edge.
